Description

Austin Community College Visual Communication Department is looking for experienced, enthusiastic professionals to teach within the graphic design section. Our department is a thriving community with eager students from all walks of life. If you have a love for graphic design and want to share your knowledge with our community, please consider joining our adjunct faculty.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in branding designing logos, identities, and annual reports
• Current and established relationships within the industry (designers, printers, paper reps, etc.)
• Previous teaching experience (very helpful but not required)
• Available to teach in mornings and afternoons

Required:

• Three to five years work experience in the Visual Communication industry
• Must be computer literate on Macintosh platform
• Proficient in Adobe CS 3 Suite
• Must possess a strong knowledge of:
  • typography
  • symbology
  • graphic design principles
  • graphic design process
• an understanding of the integration of the computer in graphic design
• Professional work practices: organized, punctual, focused

Education:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
  • Visual Communication
  • Graphic Design
  • Art (including coursework in Graphic Design)
  • Commercial Art (including coursework in Graphic Design)
