Lombardi Software is seeking a junior Product & User Experience Designer to join its team. We’re looking for someone with formal training in user interface, graphic design and/or human computer interaction (HCI) with a passion for innovation and a desire to work with leading edge technologies.
This is a great opportunity for a junior designer to work with an experienced & passionate UX team that is driving the next generation of user experience for our Web 2.0 and Eclipse-based software products.
Lombardi Software believes the UX Designer position is key to building superior products and will continue to differentiate our products in the marketplace. You will have a great deal of responsibility — and a lot will be expected of you. We'd prefer someone that has experience working in a small-company environment, has a passion for innovation and excellence, and wants to work with other passionate, skilled individuals.

Position Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles with the ability to address complex design problems and provide sound design solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to create user task flows.
- Create wireframes & interactive prototypes using HTML/CSS/JS to effectively communicate interaction & design concepts.
- Collaborate in the requirements gathering, specification and guidelines phases of a project.
- Create & own production-ready graphics & layouts for our web-based applications.
- Keep the rest of the team abreast of the latest design techniques/trends/ideas.
- Develop and execute usability testing with target users.
Job Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Human Factors, HCI, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related area.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates past work & accomplishments.
- Experience creating interaction designs for Web applications or sites.
- Strong visual design skills (layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, patterns) and a fanatical attention to detail down to the pixel.
- Expertise in Web design & graphics tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, DHTML, CSS, etc.
- Strong customer and user focus.
- Comfortable working on highly technical teams.
- Comfortable working with rapidly changing requirements.
- Desire to grow and improve as a designer.
