We are proud to announce that AIGA Austin and SXSW Film have partnered to create a new award for this year’s SXSW Film Festival. It’s the 2009 Award for Excellence in Movie Poster Design. If your film is showing at the 2009 SXSW Film Festival, your poster is eligible. It’s free to enter and the deadline is fast approaching, so click the URL below to download the entry form.
A best-of-breed jury of designers and film experts will judge the posters and select the winners. The top three posters will receive awards at the SXSW Film Awards and all entries will be shown at a viewing party for designers and filmmakers (date and time to be announced soon).
In today’s marketplace, successful filmmakers understand the importance of not only producing a great film but also breaking new ground in how their film is marketed. AIGA Austin and SXSW Film want to help support these successes and, by doing so, support design excellence within the film industry.
